*Note: This article addresses the VidFleet in-vehicle cameras, which look like this.
If the camera looks different, please switch to Xirgo. For questions regarding camera type, please contact GPS Trackit.
What is the Video Tab?
The Video tab organizes camera clips for easy review, allowing users to filter by Unit, Driver, Tag, Date, and Event Type. Clips can be sorted by media type, reviewed with feedback options, and shared, downloaded, or deleted as needed. Additional features include updating driver assignments, bookmarking important clips, and accessing requested videos, with all tools available on both the desktop platform and GPS Trackit Cloud app.
How Do I Navigate the Video Tab?
The camera software identifies various events and clips them for review in the Video tab. Clips can compile quickly. To quickly and easily search the clips use the filters to the upper right.
Clips can be sorted by Units and Drivers. Once that choice has been made, then the appropriate Tags should be selected along with a Date and Time. Use Event type to seek specific event types, such as Hard Brake or Hard Turn.
In addition, the Clips can also be sorted by the Media type (Snapshot or Video Clip) along with their Review status.
Be sure to click on Apply to see the results. The requested clips will now appear for review.
To review a clip, click on it. Video playback will begin immediately. The pause button is located in the lower left corner. The lower right corner houses the full screen and download options.
The Review feature allows Users to input feedback regarding the Clip. If desired, this feedback can be made visible to Drivers via the GPS Trackit Driver App.
Even if the GPS Trackit Driver App is not in use, the notes field provided to the right can still be utilized for annotations regarding the clip. Notes can be added at any time during the 90 day window during which the clip is available. To enter notes, click the ‘pencil’ icon in the upper right corner and be sure to Save when done. Multiple notes can be added and will be displayed showing both the order in which they were posted and who posted them.
To the left above the video are some additional buttons. Share allows the clip to be sent to others, perhaps for further review. Unneeded clips can be removed using the trash can. The download button allows the clip to be downloaded and saved.
*Note: VidFleet One (non-AI) model cameras do not display the download button. To retain video past the 90 day expiration date, please utilize the VidFleet: Download Video instructions found here.
Delete, Share and Download can also be found on each video card when looking at the Video page. Look in the lower right corner of the card and hover the mouse over the 3-dot button. The star icon allows the clip to be saved for quick future access, similar to bookmarking a website. Starred items are accessed via the Starred button at the upper left.
If necessary, the Drivers on the clip can be adjusted. This allows for corrections in the event that a Driver wasn’t assigned when the Event occurred or if the wrong Driver was attached. The ability to adjust the Driver is dependent on User permissions.
If the Request feature was used to find particular clips, those clips will be sent to the Requested tab here in Video. All the tools mentioned previously are here, with the exception of Review. The only difference is that the clips won’t be labeled as an event, they’ll just say Complete. Any clip requests that can’t be fulfilled will be labeled Failed.
Video Clips are also available for review on the GPS Trackit Cloud app. To view the clips, tap on Menu. Then select Video. All available video clips will be listed. As with the Cloud platform the clips are divided by Events and Requested, and can be filtered by unit, date, etc…
