*Note: This article addresses the VidFleet on-board cameras, which look like this.
For questions regarding camera type, please contact GPS Trackit.
GPS Trackit offers a mobile app for GPS Tracking, called GPS Trackit Cloud. This app is a free download and available for Android and iOS. The app is identical on both operating systems. VidFleet cameras are accessible via the Cloud app, which means the ability to view, request and download camera imagery on the go! No need to return to a computer terminal, cameras can be checked from anywhere.
As with any app, tap on it to open. Use the same login credentials as are used for the regular software platform. Please be sure that the very first login is done on the software platform, as there is an authentication process that can’t be carried out via the app.
- Live View
At login the starting point will be Map, which where the Camera Live View can be accessed.
First, tap the Tag containing the desired unit.
Then tap on the unit itself.
Camera units will have a green button called Video. Tap Video to wake up the camera and view the livestream.
The live steam is the default view and like the main software platform, will run for approximately a minute before needing to be refreshed. To switch to the static Snapshot, click the marked button.
Please be aware that the Drivers do not receive any sort of notification that the Live View has been accessed.
Video Clips
The auto-captured Video Clips are available for review and download via the mobile app as well. To access them, tap on Menu.
Then select the Video button.
Four options will be available. Events is the furthest to the left and contains the automatically captured clips.
Use the Filter to select the desired date range, event type and units or drivers.
To watch the clip simply tap on it to trigger the playback. Options to download, share, favorite and delete are in the lower left corner below the playback window.
A Notes field is also available.
Please be aware that video clips are only available for 90 days after being captured. To keep the clip longer, please download and save to a separate server/hard drive.
The Starred section is where favorite clips can be found. Favoriting a clip does not extend the 90 day expiration period.
Requested is available to both view previously submitted clip requests AND to place new ones.
Use the plus (+) to input a Request.
Select the Unit, Date and Time Stamp. If a date is ‘greyed out' that means no video was captured on the date in question and nothing can be requested.
Once the three fields have been filled in, a new field will appear. This timeline field is used to select the exact desired clip. The blue section is used to highlight the desired selection. The timeline can be moved by tracing with a finger.
Press the Request button to retrieve the clip. Requested clips have the same 90 day expiration date as all others.
