The temperature sensor is used to monitor the temperature of refrigerated vehicles and trailers. If the sensors detect the temperature rising or dropping beyond the parameters established, alerts can be triggered to let you know. As a reminder these sensors are only available for wired-install devices. For questions regarding adding Temperature Tracking to units, please contact the Care team.
To use the temperature sensor feature, start in the Manage tab in the Temperature section. Click on the plus button to see the needed fields.
First, select the vehicle in question from the dropdown menu. The temperature sensors can have multiple zones if needed, to monitor different parts of the space. These are known as zones. Give the zone a unique title.
The ‘high’ and ‘low’ fields represent the temperatures that should trigger the alert. If a delay is desired, this can be set up. For example, allowing some time to allow the temperature to return to the safe zone before setting up the alert.
Use the Alert field to choose if the alert should trigger just once or to keep triggering until the temperature returns to the safe zones. And finally, as with any Alert, recipients will need to be chosen from the Contact list. If monitoring more than one zone of the refrigerated unit with the sensors, be sure to enable and fill in Zones 2 and/or 3. Be sure selections are Saved.
Current Temperature can be viewed on the Maps tab, by opening the unit’s info box.
Temperature tracking history is accessible via the Reports tab, via the Temperature Report.
