What is Car IQ Pay?
Car IQ Pay is a digital payment solution that connects your vehicles directly with other merchants in your fleet’s ecosystem. No more cards to carry, no more PINs to forget, no receipts to gather! Drivers simply install an app on their phone or tablet in order to unlock the pump at participating stations.
How is Car IQ Pay Obtained?
Car IQ Pay is an add-on feature for GPS Trackit, with an additional fee per month per vehicle. To get started with Car IQ Pay please Contact GPS Trackit!
Where is Car IQ Pay Accessed?
GPS Trackit will add a new entry to the menu on the software platform. Simply click on this link to access the Car IQ Pay web portal and access the account.
How Does Car IQ Pay Work?
Within the Car IQ Pay portal, each vehicle in the fleet is enrolled and a list of drivers (employees) is set up, then assigned to their vehicle (these assignments can be adjusted as needed). Each driver will then install the Car IQ Pay app on their smartphone or tablet. When they arrive at a participating merchant the driver unlocks the pump using the app.
Each fuel station is geofenced in the Car IQ software. The geofence location is compared to the tracking data from GPS Trackit to confirm whether or not that the vehicle has arrived at the fuel station. Additionally, because each vehicle is enrolled into Car IQ Pay via the VIN, which is an attribute read by the GPS tracking device, this allows Car IQ Pay to accurately audit and validate purchases.
What if the GPS Tracking Unit Isn’t Working Properly?
Car IQ Pay works hard to prevent fuel fraud. These efforts include verifying that the fuel station location and enrolled vehicle location match up. If the GPS Trackit unit in the enrolled vehicle has been offline for more than seven hours, the pump will not unlock until the tracking unit returns to service.
What Type of Tracking Unit is Needed?
Another aspect of the Car IQ Pay fraud prevention is to monitor the fuel level in the vehicle, both before and after purchase. To accomplish this, GPS Trackit Plug-And-Play units must be installed on the vehicle. Unfortunately wired installation devices are not compatible with Car IQ Play.
How is Car IQ Pay Set Up?
After making the decision to obtain Car IQ Pay, two on-boarding calls will take place directly with Car IQ. First, the initial introduction to the software portal and an overview of how everything works. Then after the account is funded a second call takes place for set up, such as enrolling vehicles and setting up drivers.
How do Drivers Gain Access?
As each Driver is added to the system they’ll receive an automatic text message with instructions on downloading the app and logging in. The app is called Car IQ Pay and is available for Android and iOS devices. The app can be installed on both smartphones and tablets, however tablets must be enabled for SMS with an associated phone number.
Which Fuel Stations Accept Car IQ Pay?
