While GPS Trackit devices have a high standard for reliability, offline events can still happen. Offline means that the tracking unit is no longer reporting to the software platform, providing the vehicle data.
Prior to installation, Offline events aren’t anything to worry about. However, after installation Offline events generally indicate an issue with the unit. Recognizing and addressing an Offline event as quickly possible is essential to minimizing potential impact to business operations.
Offline devices can be seen on the Map tab as a Yellow triangle instead of the regular arrow. Units will be considered Offline if they stop reporting completely within a certain time frame, which then produces the yellow indicator.
*Note: CerebrumX ‘Deviceless Telematics’ do not produce an offline indicator due to the nature of the programming. Any reporting concerns should be brought to the attention of the Care Team as soon as possible.
GPS Trackit strongly recommends the use of the Stopped Reporting Alert in conjunction with the Offline indicator to ensure the most timely recognition of a potential device issue.
