*Note: This information is regarding the Xirgo in-vehicle cameras, which look like this:
Cameras that do not look like the picture above are VidFleet models. VidFleet content can be found here. For questions regarding camera type, please contact GPS Trackit.
Live View means accessing the cameras ‘in the moment’ and seeing what they’re seeing. This process starts on the Maps tab. The Unit location on the map is marked by the arrow icons. Any vehicle with a camera will have a white dot on their arrow.
To access the Live View, the unit’s info will need to appear. There are two options to see it. First, use the Vehicle list on the right and click on the device name.
Or on the map, click directly on the unit’s icon.
Either way the info box will pop up. Camera access will be through the camera icon at the bottom of the box. Click on the camera.
As long as the engine is running, the camera is taking still pictures every 5-10 seconds. When the engine turns off, the camera shuts down in order to both preserve memory space and to prevent excessive power draws on the vehicle battery. Clicking on the camera icon shows these pictures as they come in. Because the pictures are being taken so close together, they may end up looking like rather jerky video. However they are not. These are static images.
For cameras with multiple channels, the different views appear on the left. To look at one in particular, just click on it. New pictures will continue to be displayed for as long as the info box is kept open or until the engine is turned off.
To review historical camera data please visit the Video Tab. Our software will identify certain events and put the photos from them into the Video tab for review.
