What is Behavior?
Using speed and aggression events, Behavior calculates what is known as the Risk Factor for both Drivers and Units.
What Are Risk Factors?
‘Points’ are accumulated based on safety violations being committed, then divided by the number of days being viewed to arrive at the assessed Risk Factor. The lower the calculated number, the lower the Risk Factors.
There are two ways to look at the Risk Factors: by Vehicle and by Driver. On the Vehicle setting the totals are calculated using the readings from a specific GPS device, regardless of the number of people that may have driven the vehicle.
Driver totals on the other hand are calculated using the readings with a specific Driver’s name on them, regardless of how many of the vehicles they may have driven. Use of the Driver assignment tool is required to view Driver risks levels.
How is Behavior Used?
Risk Factors are an excellent tool for recognizing both commendation opportunities as well as coachable moments for performance improvement. Up to 60 days of data can be viewed at one time, showing clear patterns and habits with regard to speed violations and aggressive driving.
Is Customization Available?
Each company can set the calculations to their own standards. And these settings can be readjusted at any time if desired via the Behavior settings within the Manage Tab. Access to both the Behavior results and Behavior Settings is dependent on the User permissions.
How Are the Risk Factors Calculated?
The Risk Factors are calculated by dividing the total number of points by the number of days in the date range selected. These can be sorted either worst to best or best to worst on the right hand side. Just click on the word Risk Factor column. The worst come up in Red and the best in Green.
The arrow to the left of the Unit or Driver name will display a breakdown of the violations that resulted in the current Risk level.
Filters are available via the arrow in the upper right hand corner. Use these filters to toggle between Units and Drivers, which can both be selected individually, by Tags or by All.
Filters are also available to set the date range as well excluding certain Risk Factors from view. For example, deciding to only display the High risk factors and hiding the Medium and Low ones.
Risk Factor data can be downloaded on demand, as either PDF or CSV Files.
