Tags are an organizational tool for use across the tracking platform. A Tag is the building block to identify the important elements of the business—vehicles, drivers, landmarks, etc —anything that needs to be sorted and assigned. Tags establish a simplified naming convention to quickly identify business elements, sort them and establish who in the organization has access to them. They can be applied to Units, Drivers, Users, Landmarks, Geofences and GPST Driver Forms. To create a Tag, go to the Account tab then click on Tags.
As many Tags as needed can be created. To create a Tag, click on the black plus button in the upper left corner.
Each Tag will need a Label and a color selection. Tags can be nested, allowing a Tag to be subdivided. For example, a Tag might be created to identify the Sales team and within that Tag the Nest feature is used to divide further, perhaps to show different sales areas. To Nest, click the Nest box then use the dropdown menu to choose which existing Tag the new one should go under.
When creating a Tag, that Tag can be applied wherever needed as part of its creation. For example when creating Sales - East Tag, there may be Units and Drivers to apply the tag to. Use the icons in the upper right to do so.
There are no limits regarding how many or which types of objects can be assigned to a Tag. And not all Tags must have all objects assigned. For example, a Tag might be created called Maintenance Vehicles and have only units assigned to it while another Tag might be called Residential Customers, for use in organizing Landmarks. Once satisfied with the Tag, click on Create to save.
Tags can be edited and deleted if changes are needed. Editing allows for name and color change, along with changing the attached objects. Object assignments to the Tags can be adjusted at any time. For example moving a Unit from one Tag to another or adding another Tag to an FSM Form. These changes can be made here in Tags using the Edit function. OR on the object itself. Hover the mouse over the Tag and a 3-dot button will appear. Click this button to see both the Edit and Delete options.
To delete Tags in bulk, check the boxes on the left of the Tag then the trashcan at the top. When deleting a Tag, a new Tag must be selected for any assigned objects. The Tag cannot be deleted without this selection.
After Tags are created, they can be combined together as needed using the Merge function. Select the Tags to be combined, then input a new Label and choose a color. The Nest option is available if the combined Tag needs to be nested somewhere. Click Merge to save.
