An Introduction to ELD
What is ELD?
ELD stands for Electronic Logging Device, used by the drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles to ensure compliance with the Hours of Service regulations. ELD replaced paper logbooks in December 2017.
How does ELD work?
The ELD unit is attached to the vehicle through either the OBD II or Jbus port. The information is then transmitted to the Driver’s access app via a Bluetooth connection.
What will the Drivers need?
To record their Hours of Service Drivers will log into a specific app, through either a tablet or a smartphone. This app is available for Android and iOS.
Does GPS Trackit sell ELD?
