To access Driver Profile use the menu in the upper left corner.
Driver Profile allows the Driver to view their personal information, such as Name and Home Base assignment. Please be aware that this information cannot be altered via the driver app. It can only be changed through the Admin Portal.
At the bottom of the page however there are three items the Driver can adjust as needed: Rule Set, Distance/Volume and Exemption.
Every Driver must have a Rule Set assigned. The Rule Set dictates the number of days in the cycle, how many hours each day can be worked and how many of the work hours can be used for actual driving. This is ordinarily set when the Driver is created in the Admin Panel. However if needed Drivers can change the Rule Set here in the Driver app. Simply tap Rule Set and select from the resulting list.
Be sure to Save the new choice. If unsure of which cycle rule to select, please consult the US DOT or appropriate Canadian/Mexican equivalent.
Distance/Volume refers to how distance and fuel are measured. Miles vs Kilometers, Gallons vs Liters. If needed, the Driver can use this to switch one to the other.
Sometimes certain scenarios may apply when drivers need to modify the hours of service rules through the use of an Exemption. An example of when an exemption can be used would be in the event of adverse driving conditions or emergency conditions. Some exemptions are specific to an industry. For guidance on when it is appropriate to use a desired exemption, please consult with the DOT.
To log an Exemption simply check the box on the right.
When the box is checked a menu will appear and the exact Exemption needed should be filled in.
Press Save.
After pressing Save a pop-up will appear and the Exemption will need to be saved again. This allows for any mistakes to be caught and corrected before they become part of the record.
The Main Operations Screen will display any Exemptions in use. The Exemption will be displayed in red, under the Status buttons.
To remove the Exemption and return to normal operations, tap on the menu again and return to Driver Profile. Then uncheck the exemption and hit Save. As before, the Save will need to be entered twice.
One particular Exemption is available directly from the Main Operations screen: Adverse Conditions. However the Exemption is only available when the Driver is within a certain range of having a violation. When not in this range, the exemption will show as Normal Conditions and cannot be accessed.
