Vehicle Status provides custom icons for the units when looking at the Maps tab. When viewing the Maps tab, the default selection for the Unit icons are colored coded arrows. These arrows point in the current direction of travel and change color based on the vehicle status (moving, stopped, etc..) Custom icons can be very helpful identifying vehicles based on job assignments or work areas or any number of items. This process begins in the Manage tab, using Vehicle Status.
GPS Trackit provides several dozen additional icon options for use, known as Vehicle Status labels. These are created in the Manage tab, under Vehicle Status. The first step is to decide which icons to use and the meaning to attach to them. Click on the plus button in the left corner.
The Status Label field is where the meaning will be listed. For example, Service Vans or Management Team. Then use the Icons menu to choose the specific icon and be sure to save.
After choosing and labeling the icons, the next step is assigning them to units. For this part, move over to Unit Settings. To assign an icon to Unit, simply locate the unit on the list and click on it. Just above the label, to the right is the Custom button. Toggle this to green.
Then on the left, click the Arrow icon. The icons selected earlier are now visible. Simply click on the icon for the unit in question. Save the choice. The new icon will now appear on the Map.
The icon can be changed or reverted back to the default arrow by returning to Manage and Unit Settings. Click the vehicle again. To remove the custom icon altogether, just toggle the custom button off.
